Our Press Freedoms under Attack

Remember what Donald Trump said at a campaign event in Texas

Hi

We are now living in a world where the President-elect of the United States has vowed to silence the press. Remember what Donald Trump said at a campaign event in Texas last February? He boasted that as president he would "open up our libel laws" so that he could sue news organizations and "win lots of money."

Now more than ever Project Censored needs your help to make sure that independent journalists and news organizations can continue to inform the American people, even when the stories that they report run contrary to elite interests.

Project Censored has been fighting for a free press for over 40 years. In that time, we have never seen such an open threat to the values and goals articulated in our mission statement.  At this critical juncture, please help us stand up and defend media freedom.

Since Election Day, we've heard from a number of you that Project Censored's work is more important than ever. We appreciate that. Let's make sure that in 2017 we continue to make progress towards our goal of creating a truly free press. Please consider becoming a Project Censored sustaining member here, or making a special one-time donation of any amount. As a sign of our appreciation for your vital support, we send sustaining members a copy of our newest book, Censored 2017, along with other goodies throughout the year.

In solidarity and peace, thank you for your contribution and support,

Mickey Huff, Director
and the entire Project Censored team
